- There are no Student, Backpacker, Saver, Senior fares or discounts on any
long distance passenger train service
- There are Student, Backpacker, Saver,
Senior (NZ residents only) fares on regional and long distance
bus/coach services
- Child fare is 2 to 14 years old for any train service and 2 to 12 years for
any regional or long distance bus/coach service
- Infant (0-23 months) travels free on all passenger train and bus/coach
services, as long as they do not occupy a seat
- Children under 14 years can not travel without an adult
- Travel is based on one way 'Point to Point' travel except for day excursions
or selected travel, sightseeing or tour packages where travel is on a 'Return'
basis
- No train services on Christmas Day - 25 December
